Dear Neighbors,
As 2019 comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to look back and appreciate all of the fun ways we worked to build our community. It was a busy year -- filled with new events and lots of folks from the neighborhood -- and we're grateful that so many of you participated. Have a look below for a snapshot of the things we did together, and please join us for more fun in the New Year!
With gratitude,
Wally, Kathy, Bryan, Eileen, and Bob
In January, we kicked off our monthly neighborhood Get-Togethers at the Brick & Beam Tavern. Low-key and informal, these events have been a great way to share a drink and meet neighbors. We've recently started to host the events at the Staybridge Suites Hotel, and we hope to continue to do so in 2020.
In the Spring, we participated in Cleaner Greener Quincy. Several members of the WHNA had a great time helping to clean up Safford Park!
The Summer was very busy! In addition to Porchfest -- which once again featured an amazing slate of local musicians and bands -- we launched our inaugural Saturdays in the Park event series. Craft Beer by the Tapped Beer Truck. Live music. Food trucks. Cornhole Tournaments. It was a total blast -- and we're already working on the plans for next year. Stay tuned!
Thank you to our lead event sponsor Staybridge Suites/Holiday Inn Express, and our other event sponsors, for making the event possible.
In September, we hosted a back-to-school Movie night featuring family favorite, "The Secret Life of Pets 2." Families gathered together on blankets and lawn chairs enjoying snacks provided by the Wollaston School PTO. The weather was perfect for this annual back-to-school event!
In December, Santa Clause came to town! As we kicked off the holiday season with our annual Safford Park Christmas Tree Lighting, we enjoyed hot cocoa, cookies (thank you Wollaston School PTO!), and some caroling. We even managed to get everyone together for a photo!
